It was a pleasure to host the Russian Minister and his wife the other night at the Manor. Such charming people. I hope that in our small way, Narcissa and I were able to bring about a measure of detente between our two wizarding countries. We should definitely do this more often.
[Private to Narcissa] Thank Salazar that is over, they were the most horrid people I ever met. And I thought that Fudge was bad. Now I'm not so sure. Slow on the uptake, yes. But not as crude as that man and his wife. Not surprising, though. He was crude as Dolohov, though in a different way.
And as for visiting them in their own home, I might have smiled and agreed to it, but absolutely not! I'd rather have dinner with the Lestranges, and you know how I feel about them. [/private]

It's nice to see that intelligence is not a lost art. My kudos to the author of that enlightening letter to the editor in this morning's Prophet. It is indeed time that something is done about this disturbing situation, the sooner the better. I hope that those in the Ministry take note, and then take action.
[Private to Narcissa] We've been asked to host the Russian ambassador and his wife for dinner on Saturday. Will that be a problem, love? [/Private]
[Private to Draco] How is school going, son? Your mother and I miss you. Please do not hesitate to write should you need anything. For example, new quidditch uniforms? Just let me know. [/Private]

I think it is time that the Ministry enforced its laws against stray animals more closely. When we were seeing off our son to his dreary sojourn to Hogwarts, I noticed a big black mongrel animagus loitering about the platform. Who knows what sorts of diseases the beast is carrying? It looked scurrilous, at best, should be put down immediately. I have reported it, of course, to the proper authorities. It remains to be seen what they will do.
[Private to Narcissa] You and I both know whom that mongrel was. He is a menace to society, and needs to be returned to his proper pen. Next time I shall not be so lenient, but I had no wish to cause a scene at that time, nor endanger our son.
No news of the LeStranges, is there? Draco can keep an eye upon his cousins, perhaps they will contact the children. Odd to think of them as parents. I'm sure their offspring feel the same way, after all this time. How foolish of them to put themselves into such a position. [/private]

Well, I can see that the Ministry is up to its usual bumbling standards, can't even control its own employees. What the deuce were they thinking, to allow the Dementors to shove off like that? And then to allow the blatant escape of such desperate criminals? I suspect bribery at work here. Cornelius, been padding your pocket much?
I trust that Hogwarts will be put extra security measures into place, considering that at least two of the students are children of the escapees? Dumbledore, get your head out of your arse and do something right for once in your miserable existence. My son's welfare is at stake, and I will not rest until I am assured of his security.
[Private to Narcissa] Bloody hell, this is all we need, your lunatic sister and her mongrel on the loose. Has she contacted you in any way? Perhaps anonymously? I know that you would tell me, of course, my love. I am simply concerned about Draco and his safety. [/private]
[Hexed private to self] I know He was behind it. Of course he was. I don't believe for one moment that the Ministry allowed this to happen, they don't have the balls for it. But what does he have in mind, and why bring those two lunatics out at this time? This does not portend well. My family must come first. Always. [/private]
